President and CEO:  Jon Sheinberg, MD, FACC

Dr. Jonathan Sheinberg attended Washington and Lee University before receiving his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed a rotating internship at Georgetown and then completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at USAF Medical Center Keesler, located on Kessler Air Force Base, Mississippi.

After residency, Dr. Sheinberg completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He has served overseas in the United States Air Force during U.S. military operations in Haiti and in Operation Enduring Freedom.

Dr. Sheinberg has served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He is trained in both invasive and noninvasive cardiology, with extensive experience performing cardiac catheterization, pacemaker implantation, transthoracic and transesophogeal echocardiography, and other noninvasive cardiac procedures.

Besides medicine, Dr. Sheinberg's passion is Law Enforcement. He is a licensed Peace Officer for the State of Texas, a Lieutenant on the Cedar Park Police Department, and a Special Deputy United States Marshal. He is the Assistant Medical Director of Williamson County EMS over tactical medicine and oversees the tactical medical support for the Central Texas Regional SWAT Team, Williamson County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team and the Round Rock Police Department SWAT Team.   

Dr. Sheinberg is also involved in cardiac research within the Law Enforcement Community. He is a member of the US Dept. of Justice Presidential Task Force on 21st Century Policing and serves on the Officer Safety and Wellness Working Group. He has developed The Cardiac Screening Initiative (CSI), an observational cohort study with the intent on determining the prevalence of coronary disease in the asymptomatic law enforcement officer. Dr. Sheinberg is a well regarded lecturer and has presented his study data at the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Major City Chiefs Association, Texas Chiefs Association, The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center of the Department of Homeland Security and many other state, local and federal agencies.

During his free time, Dr. Sheinberg enjoys spending time with his three children Anna, Ben and Jeremy. He is a military history buff and his hobbies include crossfit, running and weight lifting.

Clinical Coordinator:  Ross Brown, CNS

Ross Brown is the Cardiometabolic Wellness Program Coordinator at Cardiovascular Associates in West Lake Hills, Texas. He is board certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health with Prescriptive Authority (ANCC), and a Registered Nurse. Ross is passionate about cardiac wellness and disease prevention of the public safety community. He has been involved with the Cardiac Screening Initiative which has evaluated the cardiac risk of over 500 public safety officers in the greater Austin area.

Ross is a member of the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists, the National Lipid Association, and NATCO-the organization of transplant professionals. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque and his Master of Science in Nursing is from the University of Texas at Austin. He completed the Blackburn course in obesity medicine in conjunction with the Harvard School of Medicine Department of Continuing Education.

Ross has extensive experience in cardiology and cardiovascular wellness. His training includes general cardiology, advanced heart failure, obesity medicine, advanced lipid management and cardiometabolic wellness. He created and directed the cardiac home visiting program aimed at reducing rehospitalization for Austin’s at risk patient population. Ross also worked as a mid-level provider at the Seton Heart Specialty Care and Transplant Center with acute and chronic heart failure patients and mechanical ventricular support. Prior to medicine, Ross worked in social services and crisis intervention with adults and children dealing with chronic medical and mental health disorders.

Mark Langendorf, MA, RCEP 

Mark Langendorf is a military veteran who served  6 years with the United States Marine Corps in both foreign and domestic capacities.
Mark's passion for cardiovascular health and wellness stems from his military service.  He received his undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Southwest Texas State University. He is credentialed through the American College of Sports Medicine where he holds both Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist certifications. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Communication with an emphasis on Executive Leadership from Louisiana Baptist University.

Mark has extensive experience in clinical program development and management. He is an experienced  educator and leader in healthcare and has successfully developed and implemented several clinical programs for healthcare systems in the greater Austin area.

Mark has worked as a staff Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Program Director in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation for 18yrs. He currently serves as the Director of Public Safety Wellness for Little River Healthcare where he coordinates and directs Public Safety Wellness  operations for Dr. Jonathan Sheinberg.  ​He is a professional member of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), the Clinical Exercise Physiologist's Association (CEPA), and he is also an Associate Member of The IACP (International Association of Chiefs of Police).

Jessica Smosna, RD, LD

Jessica received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Bradley University in Peoria, IL and completed her Dietetic Internship and clinical rotations through the University of Houston. She received comprehensive training through her rotations at Methodist Hospital, Internal Medicine and Pediatric Associates, Early Childhood Intervention home services, and the Houston Fire Department. Following her internship, Jessica worked at Internal Medicine and Pediatric Associates in Houston. She then took time off to travel before returning to Chicago, where she worked in a private practice of dietitians as the Functional Nutrition Specialist. Prior to joining Cardiovascular Associates, Jessica owned and operated her own nutrition business here in Austin.

Over the past six years of working as a registered dietitian, Jessica’s mission has been to educate and motivate individuals to become empowered by their food choices and enhance their overall health in order to live their life to the fullest!

She uses food-as-medicine to enhance her patients’ health, bringing forth a unique ability to help individuals recognize underlying barriers and develop realistic solutions around them. 

She has successfully guided patients in reversing Type 2 Diabetes, elevated cholesterol, and high blood pressure; while also supporting clients in eliminating symptoms of IBS, headaches, pain, and guilt and shame.
